RSS - Read all about It by ChangesChanges.

I like RSS and newsreaders as they save me time searching for articles on topics that I am interested in because articles are automatically delivered to my g-mail account. I basically selected sites that would assist me at work with any Readers Advisory work such as book reviews, with displays, and Book Club discussions at the library. I was impressed by Sutherland Shire Libraries News and Mosman Library Teen Zone blogs. I did several searches for other public libraries with no results. Hopefully more libraries will create their own blogs in the future after learning 2.0 is completed. It would be good to see what other libraries have done and what plans they have in the future such as activities. I think this technology is a great way of networking and sharing ideas.

ChangesChanges first blog ever!

Wow what an experience. I'm glad I made it to the land of blogging. I hope to learn more about this way of communication. Information Computer Technology is ever changing, hence my first ever blog title. I think people need to keep abreast with technology and keep their skills up to date. New technology is emerging in all our lives at home and at work. In the current work environment people need to be trained and exposed to all learning opportunities such as NSWPL Learning 2.0 program to perform well in their job, especially in libraries and information centres. This is one great example of Lifelong Learning. What is good about the program is one can manage to complete it at one's pace. Time is always short, rushing around here and there. I like looking at other blogs, especially all the fun photos people have posted. The best blogs are work related. Some excellent public library blogs out there allowing the institution to communicate it's services and allowing customer feedback to be posted for all to read too. I think the library I work for could make great use of this technology. The IT/Systems section need to implement this but are still struggling to create a great homepage and navigation links to services. Signing off for now.
